WONDERFOO RETURNS! Fundraiser at Full Cup, October 12th at 8 PM

Come on down to Full Cup tomorrow night for WONDERFOO, a fundraiser for the National Kidney Foundation!  I hope you can join me for an evening of live music, comedy, and more.   It all starts at 8:00 PM, Wednesday, October 12th at 388 Van Duzer Street, Staten Island, NY.  Admission is only $5, 100% of which will be donated to the National Kidney Foundation.  If you've already made a donation online, you get in for free!

I'll be hosting the evening, with comedic performances by Erik Bergstrom, RG Daniels, Anthony DeVito, Justy Dodge, J.F. Harris, and Greg Stone.

Dave Immiti and friends will be providing live music, the guys from Far Fetched will be showing a bunch of their sketch videos, DJ James Sorrenti will be playing tunes all night long, Tarrah Lantz will have some amazing fresh baked goods for sale (with all proceeds donated to NKF), and we'll have 50/50 raffle tickets available.

If anyone is coming from the Staten Island Ferry, Full Cup is just a quick bus ride away.  Just take the S52 to the corner of Beach Street and Van Duzer.

If you can't make the show, please consider joining or sponsoring TEAM WONDERFOO in the 2011 NYC Kidney Walk.  Between three comedy shows and two kidney walks, our team has raised over $6,000 since 2009!  This year I will be participating in the National Kidney Foundation's Kidney Walk again, and I hope you will consider either joining or sponsoring my team. This is a cause that is very important to me, and together I know we can make a difference.

If you would like to make a donation, please visit http://donate.kidney.org/goto/johnszeluga.  Did you know that if each of my Facebook friends gave just one dollar, I would more than exceed my fundraising goal for this year?

If you're free on Sunday, October 16, 2011, you should really consider joining my team.  This is a great cause for an amazing organization, and the walk itself is a lot of fun.  We meet up at the South Street Seaport at 9:30 AM, then at 10:30 AM we walk over the Brooklyn Bridge and back.  To join the team, visit http://donate.kidney.org/goto/wonderfoo.

Why do I walk for the National Kidney Foundation?  I do it for family and friends who have been affected by kidney disease, and I also do it because the National Kidney Foundation is a very effective and efficient organization.  More than 81 cents of every dollar goes directly to vital programs and services.  You don't see numbers like that when you look at a lot of other charities, and I want my dollars and efforts to help as many people as possible.

Finally, if you can't make the show, if you can't donate, and if you can't join the team, please spread the word.  Just telling people about this cause is a tremendous help.

To everyone who has helped so far, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.  I'll see you tomorrow.

- John Szeluga
